Xserve runs OS X 10.5 Leopard Server with UNIX at its core, it was built with security in mind. Security is "built-in" not "bolted-on". OS X Server works with an unlimited number of Mac, Windows, Linux, and UNIX clients. That's right, no per-client license fees! OS X Server can be dropped right into a mixed server environment. If you're already running Windows servers, no problem, Xserve fits right in! OS X Server is also enough to handle all your company's needs handling web, email, directory services, and more.

Configure the optional hardware RAID using an Xserve RAID card (with battery backed cache memory) that's installed so it doesn't use your two PCI Express slots. Supports RAID levels 0, 1, and 5.
